Bestoon Khalid moderated a debate on homosexuality in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, on April 9, 2021, in which a Kurdish openly gay activist, a pro-LGBT gynecologist, an anti-LGBT sociologist and an anti-LGBT politician were hosted. The debate came after the arrest of several LGBT individuals with prostitution charges in Sulaimani.
